Assateague - Island
of the Wild Ponies
Made famous by the fictional book, Misty
of Chincoteague, Assateague's wild horses, known locally as 'ponies',
have been roaming their unique barrier island habitat for over 200 years.
While a children's book, readers of all ages will enjoy the unique
photos and learning about the social behavior and natural history of these
animals as they go about a year of their life.
